Before Facial FAQs

What is a facial, and what can I expect from it?

A facial is a skincare treatment that typically involves cleansing, exfoliating, extracting impurities, and nourishing the skin. It aims to improve your skin’s appearance and health.

How do I prepare for a facial appointment?

It’s advisable to arrive with a clean face, free of makeup and any other products. Refrain from using any Retinal and any aggressive exfoliants at least 2-3 days prior to your visit. Be ready to discuss your skincare concerns and goals with your “Skin-Influencer”.

Should I avoid any skincare products or treatments before a facial?

It’s usually best to avoid harsh exfoliants, retinoids, and strong chemical peels in the days leading up to your facial to prevent skin irritation.

Can I have a facial if I have sensitive skin or specific skin conditions?

Yes, but inform your esthetician about any skin sensitivities or conditions like rosacea, acne, or allergies beforehand so they can tailor the facial to your needs.

How long does a typical facial session last?

The duration of a facial can vary, but it usually lasts between 60 to 90 minutes. Some express facials can be shorter, around 30 minutes.

After Facial FAQs

What should I do immediately after my facial?

After a facial, avoid touching your face and exposing it to direct sunlight. Our “Skin-Influencer” will provide guidance on post-facial care.

Can I apply makeup after a facial?

It’s best to wait a few hours before applying makeup to allow your skin to fully absorb the benefits of the facial. Use clean makeup brushes and avoid heavy or pore-clogging products.

Is there any downtime after a facial?

Most facials have little to no downtime. However, you may experience temporary redness or sensitivity, which usually subsides within a few hours.

How should I care for my skin in the days following a facial?

Follow your “Skin-Influencer’s” recommendations for post-facial skincare, which may include using gentle, hydrating products and avoiding harsh treatments.

How often should I get facials?

The frequency of facials depends on your skin type and concerns. Generally, a monthly facial can help maintain healthy skin, while those with specific issues may require more frequent sessions initially

Are there any side effects or risks associated with facials?

Facials are generally safe, but there can be minor side effects like redness or breakouts, what we like to call “purging”, especially if extractions were performed. Skin purging simply means that your skin is eliminating – on turbodrive – unwanted material that causes spots, pushing everything to the surface to speed up your skin’s recovery. This usually resolves within a day or two.

Can I go back to my regular skincare routine after a facial?

Yes, you can return to your regular skincare routine, but it’s essential to use products that align with your skin’s current needs, as advised by your esthetician.

Excellent for ALL skin types!
